The South African Pharmacy Council (S.A.P.C) requires that all pharmacists’ assistants should undergo training and be qualified to work in the dispensary. A large number of pharmacist’s assistants still need training, and the lack of willingness from many pharmacists to act as tutors, financial constraints and a limited number of training institutions are contributing factor to the lack of training as a pharmacist’s assistant.
The Academy therefore will provide this invaluable training to everyone who wants to be a qualified Pharmacist’s Assistants. All training material designed will be sent to SAPC for approval, and learners who have completed the courses will be registered with the SAPC.
Front Shop Assistants also play a pivotal role in the success of a pharmacy. With the ever changing climate of the pharmacy profession, it is essential that every person working in a pharmacy is equipped with the relevant information and training in order to provide excellent quality and care to customers. The Academy will also develop relevant training material for this cadre of personnel. This includes cashiers, frontshop assistants, merchandisers, stock take personnel etc.
The Academy will source out Learnerships to assist potential employees, and most importantly those who are unemployed. This is an initiative to decrease the rate of unemployment and to provide job opportunities, an initiative that our government is striving to achieve.
Please keep visiting the website to check on developments about the Academy.
